About

Bruno Manguen-Sapiña is a prolific writer/director active in the international film industry since 2010. His style merges expressive camera work with powerful and naturalistic performances, rhythm, immersive sound design, socially relevant stories and gripping plots.

He learnt his craft in film sets and universities in Mexico, U.S.A, and Germany; working as a 1st A.D in 97 TV commercials and writing and directing short-films, music videos and experimental pieces. He studied classical still photography, English literature, and has a master's in film directing and screenwriting. His graduation film "NO" premiered at the Guanajuato International Film Festival, screened at numerous international film festivals and won several awards and recognitions, including Best Short Film at the 16th edition of Shorts Mexico Festival and a nomination for the 2021 German Short Film Award, Germany’s highest recognition for short films.

Manguen-Sapiña, represented by Lucky Punch Berlin, works in Germany and Mexico, and is currently developing an array of different narrative projects for both markets.
